| Popular culture is the elements that are around you on an everyday basis. For instance we have MP3 players, Ipods, cellphones, TV's with cable or satelite and so on. This is the popular culture of today. Also popular culture to day is to have fuew effiecent cars since gas prices are so high. The popular culture of the 70 and 80's were stereos, desk top computers, TV's with only a few channels. In the 70 and 80's the size of cars were not an issue since the price of gas was not 3 dollars a gallon or more. There are very few homes without a computer and a cell phone. If you don't have a computer there is always a way to go to the library and use the ones there. Computers are the culture of today. Laptops are the culture also of today and the smaller the better. Cell phones are some peoples means of communication. I know several homes that that is the only phone that they have. I do know that this cuts down on telemarkets calling. Popular culture to me is the surrounds around you. Your friends and family, the way you were raised, and you family back ground. For instance, I was raised on a farm with 4 sisters and 2 brothers and we were expected to have the chores completed when my parents came home from work. |
